Our Backstory 

In 2022, I dove headfirst into the hobby of home brewing craft beer. This hobby quickly grew my love for the art of brewing and allowed me to form great friendships with several local home brewers alike. Upon joining the Bay Area Mashtronauts as a club member, I quickly became involved in competition brewing. As I continued to immerse myself in home brewing, I started dreaming of how I could turn my home brewing hobby into something bigger than just a hobby. Outside of brewing beer, my wife and I are both full time police officers and parents of a crazy two year old boy. I have been a police K9 handler for almost five years now, and can say without a doubt that it has been one of the most rewarding jobs I have ever had.

Because my passion for home brewing and police K9's is next level, I decided in late 2022, to create a brand name and vision for a K9 inspired craft beer brand that could be more than just making beer. With the help of my wonderful wife, the name "Hound Bound Brewing Co." was born. As we started thinking of options on how to grow this brand, opening a brewery/ tap room was just not financially realistic for us at this point in time. The ultimate challenge for me was how I could connect the two concepts of craft beer and police K9's that could grow a connection with the surrounding community. Having several of friends in the Law Enforcement work field, along with tons of home brewing friends, I figured crafting up some merchandise might get things rolling a little. After completing my first turn around of shirts with Relentless Defender, I realized that we could have an opportunity to grow this brand into something bigger as we wait to open a physical brewing location in the near future. Because I decided to move forward with an active online store front, I only found it right to orchestrate some sort of donation that can benefit the community. Because I personally know the positive impact that local law enforcement agencies and their K9 partners have on our communities, I have decided that 10% of each purchase made through my store front will be donated to local Police Departments to help fund their K9 divisions. Police K9's require a lot of funding, equipment, training costs, vet bill etc, and not every police agency has an endless budget to spend. 10% may be only a $1 here and there, but every little bit helps!

As we move forward with our plans in the future for Hound Bound Brewing Co., a local brewery and taproom location is definitely on the table and being talked out constantly. We do not have a time frame on when our brewery will launch but planning is underway.
